A little insight.
A better place to play.

Optional game statistics help Unmask’s owner understand which games people play, how long they spend playing and whether they come back.

Your choice

Statistics are off until you choose “Allow statistics”. Saying no doesn’t change the games. You can change your choice here or through “Game statistics” on the Games page. Browser requests not to track are respected.

What is collected?

If you allow statistics, your browser keeps a randomly generated player identifier for up to 180 days. We send that identifier with a random play identifier, the game name, level number, game-start time, active playing time and whether the game or level was completed. This lets the owner count returning browsers without asking for your name, email address or a player account.

The identifier is a pseudonym, not proof of a person’s identity. We do not record your screen, keystrokes, chess positions or conversations. Play-time measurement pauses in hidden tabs, on pause screens and after two minutes without input.

Who can see it?

The owner’s password-protected dashboard shows aggregate figures. Statistics are stored in a separate Neon database in London and processed by Vercel, which hosts the games. The analytics application does not save raw IP addresses; it uses short-lived, keyed hashes for abuse protection. Hosting providers may process routine connection information to deliver and protect the service.

How long is it kept?

Records with no activity for 180 days are removed the next time the owner opens the dashboard. If you switch statistics off, collection stops and the player identifier is removed from your browser. Previously collected statistics remain until that cleanup. Clearing your browser data also removes your local choice and identifier.

Nika’s Shape Shift: optional top 10

If you choose Save score after a run, your nickname and best score become public on the leaderboard for that difficulty. Use a nickname rather than a full name. We store the nickname, score, difficulty, active playing time, matches, best streak and date in the games database. One best score is kept per nickname and difficulty until the entry is removed or the leaderboard is reset. Saving a score also remembers your nickname on that device for your next run. A short-lived signed run token and rate limits help prevent duplicate or invalid submissions. This feature works independently of the optional statistics choice.

Optional voice controls

Voice is off until you turn it on and allow the microphone. The game does not save audio recordings or transcripts. Your browser’s speech recognition service may process audio online under its own terms. The game stops listening when play pauses or ends, when you open the top 10, or when you turn voice off. The pose buttons remain available.
